Welcome to the The Filmmaker's Playbook, hosted by writer-director Jason Branagan.
My guest today is actor and writer Stephen Jones. Stephen’s television series, Northern Lights, in which he plays the lead, Lloyd, has just been nominated for 4 IFTAs including Best Drama, and Best Script for Stephen himself. Some of Stephen’s other credits include Love/Hate, KIN, Nowhere Fast and Red Rock as well as his critically acclaimed plays, From Eden and Northern Lights.
On today’s show we talk about Stephen starting acting in the drama society in UCD, how he writes and letting ideas simmer for a long period of time, developing his play Northern Lights into a TV series, focusing on the job at hand instead of worrying about the next one, and much more.
The purpose of this podcast is to give a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the filmmaking process and to make information about filmmaking accessible to everyone, so whether you're a casual film fan, an aspiring filmmaker, or a seasoned pro, I hope you enjoy today's episode and learn something interesting in the process.
